Carrier Command is back from MicroProse – New Trailer

Dear Journalist,

Today we are welcoming you on the bridge of a futuristic carrier. You are in command and the mission is simple: conquer the isles of the Archipelago making the most of the combined arms army that you have on board.

This is what Carrier Command players from the ’80s were experiencing and this is what MicroProse is bringing back in this modern and ambitious remake.

What will be the Carrier Command 2 experience?
Carrier Command 2 is Strategy, Planning and Teamwork on a scale that is both engaging and manageable. True to MicroProse’s heritage, Carrier Command 2 is all about meaningful decisions.

Strategize: Gather intel from your vehicles’ radars, pick your tools of the trade, and launch your attacks where the enemy is weaker. The approach you take to a situation will play a big part in the outcome.
Plan: Once you have taken an island you will need to exploit and defend the resources it provides. Ensuring these supply lines remain open will be key to your survival. Think ahead.

Teamwork: Make the most of different unit synergies and create combined arms assaults to efficiently win battles. On top of that, get into each and every vehicle and take part in the action. Lead from the front!

A Strategic Challenge
In the near future humanity’s hunger for mineral resources and fossil fuel has only increased, and a newly discovered chain of islands offers an abundance of both…to whoever can take control of them first.

Your mission: Command a mighty carrier ship, multi-role aircraft, amphibious tanks, drones and more as you attempt to establish a secure network of bases within the archipelago.

Unfortunately, you are not alone.
Every step of the way, you will be competing against rival AI or human carrier commanders whose technical capabilities are a match for your own, are every bit as determined to succeed, and have no qualms about blowing you out of the water!

Success or failure will come down to not just superior overall strategy but also the chance to turn the tide of the battle by assuming direct control of individual vehicles to defend your bases or stage a direct attack on your enemy!

Winning combination
Carrier Command 2 combines a sophisticated real-time strategy with detailed vehicle simulation, allowing the player to choose exactly how and where they focus their attention. This unique blend of gameplay also makes for a huge amount of replayability.

Features List
• Flexible strategy + simulation gameplay
• Competitive or co-operative multiplayer options
• Multiple paths to victory
• Land, sea and air combat
• Build networks and manage resources
• Highly detailed vehicles and other equipment
• Many varied islands to explore
• Dazzling visual effects
• Mood-setting music and sound effects
• Near-future sci-fi storyline
Oodles of replayability!

MAD GAMES TYCOON MOBILE SOON AVAILABLEBuild Your Own Game Company and Dominate the Industry in Mad Games Tycoon

Build a Burgeoning Games Industry Empire! Irdning, Austria (July 9th 2020) — Publisher Toplitz Productions released very successfully their game studio simulation Mad Games Tycoon for PC and consoles. Now the Austrian publisher is going to release the game for mobile devices on IOS and Android this summer.

Mad Games Tycoon, which asks players to manage the challenges of launching a game company — starting out as an indie studio and working their way up to becoming a major player in the ‘biz. Aspiring studio heads will do more than just play games all day, as they’ll need to manage day-to-day logistics — including hiring new programming talent and renting office space — and then craft games everyone will want to play. As business booms, they’ll need to think about building their own game engines, cutting licensing deals, and even creating next-generation consoles.

Features of Mad Games Tycoon include:

● Start a Game Development Studio and develop and market games in any combination of over 15 genres with nearly 200 sub-categories

● Explore over 40 technologies (e.g. graphics, sound, control) and create your own game engines as a basis for your games, or license them to other development houses

● Produce a next-generation game console that puts everything else on the market to shame

● Set up your studio – from the proverbial backyard garage without heating – to modern skyscrapers with server farms for your grand-scale MMO’s

● Expand your workforce – hire both “green” programmers and development legends – then staff departments like testing, marketing, sound, and graphics with the best people

Mad Games Tycoon challenges players to go from a garage-based two-person game development team to a mega-business based not only on games but engine development and console creation! Aspiring development superstars will need to hire the right people to craft amazing games, while handling all the logistics of a real-world studio, from making deals to license the hottest IPs, to renting the right-sized office space for a growing super-studio.

Recently released on Early Access (PC), the game introduces players to a more outdoorsy lifestyle, where they’ll work to take their family’s lumber business from almost defunct to a dominant dynasty.

Today’s new trailer showcases three key elements of Lumberjack’s Dynasty: social interactions, construction and maintenance, and quests. To succeed and build a booming business, players will need to build a community with their neighbors, while taking on various tasks, or quests, offered by the locals. Of course, running a timber business takes more than talking, and viewers of today’s trailer will get a first-hand look at the family farmhouse as it is being restored to its former glory.

MicroProse is Back!

Hunter Valley, Australia, 5th May 2020: MicroProse is back.

This would probably be enough to send shivers down the spine of every strategy and simulation gamer out there. MicroProse has always been about the games, and this announcement is intended to show everybody how we intend to take the market by the storm with original and high-quality games in the strategy and simulation genres. We are proud to announce three new games that are in development right now and on Steam.

This is only the beginning, though. Other announcements will follow soon as our line-up is constantly growing, together with our ambitious plans. Enough with bragging, let’s get to the games!

Sea Power – Developer: Triassic Games
Brought to you by the lead designer of Cold Waters, Sea Power lets you control NATO and Warsaw Pact forces in a modern naval conflict.

Whether it’s gunning it out with Boghammars in a surface duel, fighting off aerial attackers armed with long-range missiles, or hunting for enemy submarines with aircraft and surface ships, advanced weaponry and sensors are at your disposal.

Can you successfully hide your forces while detecting and tracking theirs? It is up to you to play an advanced game of cat and mouse on the high seas, to seize the initiative and attack with the advantage of surprise on your side. And at all times, you have to observe rules of engagement and take care not to cause an unnecessary incident that could lead to escalation. After all, you cannot really be sure just who that radar contact at 30.000 feet is, can you?

Second Front – Developer: Hexdraw
Second Front is the tactical WWII game that genre enthusiasts always wanted and never really got. Sporting a full-fledged 3D engine and an easy to use user interface, the game is easy to play but hard to master.

Playing a tactical game that is deeper than your average X-Com clone, with a competent AI and a powerful editor to create scenarios and campaigns has been the dream of tactical players for long.

Second Front comes with multiple campaigns covering different fronts of World War II and sporting German, American and Russian units. Scenarios are fought in a 60 turns battle cycle, from morning to night. Fight and rest or push your troops to the limit and press the attack. These are not set-pieces scripted battles but continuous emergent skirmishes with persistent loss, fatigue, and experience.

Task Force Admiral – Developer: Drydock Dreams Games

Task Force Admiral Vol.1: American Carrier Battles is a single-player experience centred on the command of an early Pacific War US Navy carrier task force.

As the overall commander, you are in charge of seeking the destruction of the enemy naval forces and preventing your opponent, the Japanese Navy, from accomplishing its objectives. To achieve your aims, you have at your disposal the most fearsome sea projection weapon known to Man in 1942: your carrier air groups and the task forces that support them.

Forget about the limitations of the past and let the best of wargaming and simulation blend and blossom together in this new take on command at sea! Re-live the great battles of the first year of the Pacific War as if you were there yourself.

In here there is no dice roll, no artificial skill-tree, no arbitrary stats, selective fog of war or supernatural crystal-clear communications. It is real-time crisis management for you, realism and historicity without concession, as little abstraction as can be, and loads of action, suspense and refreshing gameplay packed in the same single computer software.

About MicroProse
Founded in 1982, is a world-famous simulation software company, known for developing groundbreaking, classics and cult titles like, the Falcon, F15 Strike Eagle, Silent Service, Gunship, Grand Prix, Civilization, B-17 The Mighty Eighth and X-COM series and many more simulation products, that sold millions of copies each at retail. Today, MicroProse is not only remaking select classics from its past but also paving the road to next-generation, state of the art games that will create the memories and experiences of the demanding new generations of gamers.

One of the founding fathers of the gaming industry “Wild Bill Stealey” will be one of the Guest Speakers for PG Connects Digital on Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10

Back in 1997, Edge Magazine published a 5-page feature – which was unprecedented in those days – on the up and coming titles from gaming company Interactive Magic, headed up by Wild Bill Stealey, Cofounder and former CEO of famous game company, MicroProse Software.  Edge focused on iMagic’s interest and launch of online games. In the final paragraph, they summed up the whole feature with these immortal lines “This online gaming will never work”.

Edge had been invited to the Interactive Magic, (now iEntertainment Network Inc.), offices in Cary, North Carolina, U.S.A. to play WarBirds and hear how WarBirds had solved the issues of dial up bandwidth and had launched an operating MMO Game with up to 256 simultaneous players from around the world in one combat flying arena.  Edge still did not agree it would fly??

In the UK at that time, internet gaming was an expensive thing to dabble in; 50p per minute phone line charges, access charges to internet servers and subscriptions to play. Whereas, the US servers and local land charges were free. Hard to see how in so little time, internet gaming has become the norm.

WarBirds has been operating since 1997, generating over $20 million in revenues, and continues to entertain World War II Combat Flight Simulation fans from around the world with brand new versions coming over the next two years.  WarBirds runs historical online events and now is doing a Baa Baa Black Sheep, Solomon’s Island Campaign online on Sunday nights at 2030 USA EDT time.

In 2020 iEntertainment Network Inc. announced they are working with the new MicroProse Ltd. company to bring back many of the famous simulation products of the original MicroProse Software.

MicroProse Software was originally launched in the summer of 1982, active military pilot, Wild Bill Stealey, and systems engineer, Sid Meier, both employees at General Instrument, released their first game Hellcat Ace.  Hellcat Ace sold over $1 million dollars in sales over the next two years. By 1986, with the launch of Gunship, MicroProse grew to over $10 million in annual sales, went public, and was sold to a private equity firm in 1993.

MicroProse Software Inc. published over 250 games, many of which are now regarded as groundbreaking, classics and cult titles, including the Civilization and X-COM series. Many of their internally developed titles were vehicle simulation and strategy games, like F-15 Strike Eagle, F-19 Stealth Fighter, Silent Service, M1 Tank Platoon, and many more.

Bill is now out to remind everyone that he was pushing boundaries back in the day. And as part of this campaign, Bill will be one of the guest speakers for Steel Media behind Pocket Gamer Connects first online-only Digital conference to the games industry event.

PG Connects Digital is set to take place from Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10 this year, it will distil the spirit of PG Connects and its Big Screen Gaming partner conferences into digital form.

Networking is an essential part of the games business, there are usually industry events happening somewhere in the world literally every week. However, right now, not everything is running as usual. While many smaller and mid-range events are going ahead as normal (and PG Connects in Seattle, Hong Kong, Helsinki and Jordan are very much included), some of the bigger events like Taiwan Games Show, MWC, GDC and E3 have been cancelled or postponed, and many people are unable to travel quite as freely.

This will all be carried out to fit around your schedule and from the comfort of your office computer, wherever you are in the world. You can register for tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pg-connects-digital-1-tickets-98035584071. And there is more information unfolding daily at https://www.pgconnects.com/digital/.

Expert Insight

As one of an expected 750+ delegates, you will have access to an innovative online platform for five days in April.

For the first two days you’ll be able to select from a program of great live video content full of insight and practical advice across themed conference tracks. You can watch the tracks live or catch up on the recorded videos within your own time, and if you’re online while the speakers are performing you’ll be able to interact live with them and the other viewers with questions and comments.

Already confirmed to speak: Taewon Yun (Super Evil Megacorp), Langer Lee (mixi), Simay Dinc (Recontact Games), Michail Katkoff (Rovio), Mariela Tzvetanova (Imperia Online), Sabrina Carmona (King), Harri Manninen (Play Ventures) and loads more.

Militracks also postponed due to Corona, although in its place is Militracks Special Market Garden Edition 19th 20th September.

Militracks also postponed due to Corona. The annual event Militracks of War Museum Overloon has been moved from May to September. But it does get a special touch.

The Overloon museum is currently closed. What should have been a great year because of the 75th anniversary of the liberation now threatens to be a year along the financial abyss for the museum. Because also the event Militracks has to be moved because of the circulating coronavirus. This was due to take place in May. Nevertheless, the museum hopes to make a virtue of an emergency, as the event is postponed to 19 and 20 September.

That weekend is traditionally also the moment when the liberation operation Market Garden is commemorated. And especially for this edition Militracks will not only present German equipment but also moving Allied equipment. The German equipment was mainly technically superior in the Second World War. But the Allies endured the art of producing tanks in large numbers. In the end, the Allies were able to emerge victorious because they could send seemingly unlimited tanks to the front.

At Militracks, these parties are facing each other again, with which the museum puts together another historical beating picture. And it hopes to bring visitor numbers back to normal levels later this year. This is necessary in order to continue to look forward to the future with confidence.

A historical ‘whodunnit’ for the post-truth world

In 1945, 20 crated Spitfires were reportedly buried in Burma.

In 2012, through the determination of Lincolnshire farmer David Cundall, David Cameron negotiated an agreement with Myanmar President Thein Sein to recover them.

Supported by witness testimonies, archaeologists and Wargaming.net, the team stared into the Burmese trench in January 2013 and found… nothing. And that was only the beginning.

‘An entertaining tale packing a warning’

LUMBERJACK’S DYNASTY – NEW GAMEPLAY VIDEO SHOWS NEW FEATURES
Good afternoon,
Today, publisher Toplitz Productions presents a new gameplay trailer for its forestry business and life simulation game — Lumberjack’s Dynasty.

As one of an expected 750+ delegates, you will have access to an innovative online platform for five days in April.

Toplitz Productions, today release the  first insider video for Medieval Dynasty

If you require code please fill in the link: https://www.fncpr.co.uk/subscription/

Today, publisher Toplitz Productions is giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of their upcoming feudal survival/life-simulation game Medieval Dynasty with a new Developer Diary video. In this new video, Junior Producer Sascha gives you an overview of what makes Medieval Dynasty different from other simulation games, especially those focused on the feudal era. Viewers will experience how players start out — not as kings and queens, but as peasants, who work to build their small hovel to a thriving medieval town. Through clever crafting, social interactions with locals, and skilled resource management, budding medieval rulers will go from a lowly peasant to Lord of the Land, all while surviving brutal winters, sweltering summers, and the daily dangers that were a part of life in the middle ages.

A mysterious land ruled by nobles and the clergy rule, where trade between the nations has introduced not only prosperity, but envy, greed, and distrust, awaits those who embark on their journey in Medieval Dynasty. Use the ever-changing landscape to turn your small plot of land into a home, a village, and a kingdom that will stand the test of time, as you and your descendants create a dynasty to rule for generations to come!

Begin with the simple life, by farming, hunting, and foraging, as you build a home for your family. Entice others to live near and work for you, build your home, a village, and ultimately a thriving city where your dynasty will reign for generations.

A massive medieval open 3D world awaits… grab your axe, hammer, or hunting bow –– and craft your legacy!

Medieval Dynasty will be available for PC in Early Access via Steam in 2020. Eager to start your own medieval legacy? You can wishlist the game on Steam here: http://bit.ly/medieval-dynasty

More names and topics will be revealed over the next month, but you can expect the usual inspiring talks from over 60 speakers who will educate and inspire through an agenda of themed tracks set to cover monetization and growth, global game trends and company culture, development tools and stories and strategies to thrive in the modern gaming market be it mobile, PC, console or XR.

24-Hour Networking For All

Aside from the talks, you’ll have until the end of the digital conference week to connect with other attendees, to meet, discuss, do deals and make plans using the all-new online meeting system.

Plus, the Digital site will also be running online variants of celebrated Big Indie Pitch, Publisher SpeedMatch and Investor Connector activities, that will bring together specific groups with specific needs.
